Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya continues her active work at the Munich Security Conference. She has met with several key politicians from Europe and the US, including the European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen; the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas; the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof; the Foreign Secretary of the UK, David Lammy; the Foreign Minister of Norway, Espen Barth Eide; the Foreign Minister of Canada, Mélanie Joly; the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu; the Foreign Minister of Finland, Elina Valtonen; the Foreign Minister of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys; and others.
The discussions focused on:
- Belarus’ role in regional security and negotiations between Ukraine and Russia;
- Ways to support and secure the release of political prisoners in Belarus;
- Support for civil society and independent media;
- Cooperation with the democratic forces.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has also joined panels on regional security and Belarus’ role in it, including:
- “Belarus Beyond 2025 Elections: Catalyst For Change Or Pawn”. Alongside European politicians and diplomats, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya discussed Belarus’ future in the current geopolitical context.
- A discussion focusing on repression in Eastern Europe.
