During the conference “Helsinki Dialogue – A Democratic Future for Belarus”, the Belarusian leader held talks with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Elina Valtonen.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya emphasized that the conference contributed to relations between the two countries and was a good investment in the future of both nations. The minister highlighted that Finland will continue to support democratic Belarus, particularly by supporting students of the European Humanities University (EHU) in Vilnius, human rights defenders, and projects within the framework of the Contact Group in the Council of the European Union.
The parties discussed possible cooperation within international organizations. Ms. Valtonen noted that Belarus has been included in the agenda of the Northern Baltic Eight summit for this year, which will allow its member states to address the Belarusian issue separately.
