Who is Svetlana Tihanovskaia?
Svetlana Tihanovskaia is a national leader of Belarus, head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus. She has become a symbol of peaceful resistance and national unity, a representative of the Belarusan people in the context of the 2020 presidential election in Belarus and subsequent events. According to the research of the “Golos” platform, at least three million people or 56% of the electorate, taking into account the real turnout, voted for Svetlana Tikhanovska in the 2020 presidential election.
Since the 2020 presidential election, Svetlana Tikhanovska has accumulated a great political experience, having had time to meet with a large number of world-class statesmen, thus attracting the attention of international politics to Belarus and the struggle of the Belarusian people for democracy.
Svetlana Tikhanouskaya has been honored with many international awards, including the American John McCain Freedom Award and the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, which is awarded by the European Parliament.
