  • “Today, Ales Pushkin would have turned 60”

    August 06, 2025

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Today, Ales Pushkin would have turned 60. The artist left behind a living creative legacy and a presence that deeply resonates in our cultural memory. Ales expressed his love for Belarus through his works and actions – bold, sincere, and full of human dignity. The regime tortured Ales to death behind bars but his art, spirit, and courage continue to inspire Belarusians.

An exhibition titled ‘Zastattsa / Zostać’ [To Stay] is opening in Warsaw in memory of Ales and the values he conveyed through his art. I intend to visit the exhibition and would be glad to see you there so that we can remember our artist together. It’s a chance to reconnect with those who still speak through art and to support Belarusian creators who have not lost their voice even in exile”.

The exhibition will run from August 6 to 20 in the courtyard of the Free Belarus Museum (Foksal 11, Warsaw). Admission is free. The opening ceremony will take place on August 6 at 19:00.
