    “The Decolonization of Education and Research in Belarus and Ukraine: Theoretical challenges and practical tasks”: conference on education and science will be held in Vilnius on September 28-30.

    The conference was initiated by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor on Education and Science, Professor Tatiana Shchyttsova of the European Humanities University (Vilnius). It will be organized by the EHU, Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv), and Charles University (Prague).

    The conference is expected to discuss the following issues:

    – Findings and takeaways from postcolonial studies in Belarus and Ukraine.
    – The end of “post-Sovietness” and the shift of focus in Eastern European studies.
    – Decolonization, nation-building, Europeanization: overlaps and discrepancies.
    – University as a platform and driver of decolonization.
    – Outlook for Belarusian and Ukrainian studies in the global context.

    You may apply for a thematic panel, discussion, or an individual presentation. Working languages are English, Belarusian, and Ukrainian.
