Belarusians face repression and restrictions imposed by the regime. A particularly severe blow was the decree suspending consular services abroad, which makes it impossible for thousands of people outside the country to obtain a new passport or other documents.
There is a growing need for reliable, up-to-date, and clear information: how to legalize one’s stay in another country, how to obtain documents to replace a passport, and where it is safe to travel.
What is Pashpart.org?
Pashpart.org is an online guide created by the democratic forces of Belarus — the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in cooperation with the United Transitional Cabinet and the People’s Embassies.
The project aims to ensure that Belarusians abroad have access to verified, practical information needed for protection from persecution and for lawful residence in other countries.
What does the website offer?
Key sections include:
- countries where it is possible to obtain an alien’s passport or alternative documents;
- information on marriage — both offline and online;
- a list of all countries and territories worldwide marked as “recommended” or “not recommended” for travel;
- an interactive safe travel map;
- a detailed section on applying for asylum.
Who is the project for?
Pashpart.org will be useful for Belarusians who:
- cannot obtain or renew a passport;
- are looking for alternative documents;
- are planning to apply for asylum or other legal procedures to regularize their stay abroad;
- want to understand which countries are safe to travel to;
- face questions related to marriage, relocation, legal status, and more.
The website is regularly updated so that Belarusians around the world can better take care of their safety.
Take care and share the link with those who may need this resource.
