On March 28, a large-scale Freedom Day event took place in Warsaw. Hundreds of participants gathered in the streets of the Polish capital to mark the national Belarusian holiday, express solidarity, and remind the world that the struggle for a free Belarus continues.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya joined the march, walking alongside Belarusians through central Warsaw under white-red-white flags — a symbol of resilience, dignity, and hope. Participants carried a 330-meter flag, while the march was accompanied by music, performances, and a community fair.
The event was also attended by Polish politicians and public figures, including Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Chair and former Foreign Minister Grzegorz Schetyna, as well as MP Alicja Łepkowska and public figure Adam Michnik.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya addressed the crowd at the end of the march:
“We take to the streets because we cannot stay silent. We cannot sit, remain quiet, and simply wait it out. No one but us — Belarusians ourselves — will win our freedom for us.
We march today for our political prisoners… And we will continue to march until every single one is free.
We march to restore justice. To put an end to terror. We demand a full political amnesty.
And ultimately, we march simply to see one another. To talk. To draw strength. And to say thank you. I believe we will succeed. Together, we will overcome everything.
Long Live Belarus!”
