Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “I am truly relieved to hear that Kseniya Lutskinа is finally safe. But it is heartbreaking that she had to leave her home to achieve that. Years of imprisonment have taken a serious toll on her health – without medical care, her chronic illness worsened, she developed pneumonia, and the tumor kept growing.
Now, to recover and reunite with her loved ones, she had to leave her country. This is a difficult decision that many Belarusians face when they realize that staying is both terrifying and risky – what seems like an illusion of safety can disappear in an instant.
But the most precious things in life are freedom and survival. Kseniya’s departure is yet another proof that the regime cannot break people – it can only push them out. Yet, the Belarusian community is stronger than borders and prisons. No matter where you are or how difficult your situation is, there will always be someone to embrace you, support you, and help you.
I wish Kseniya strength and a speedy recovery”.
