  • Expert webinar “Energy Security for New Belarus: How to Provide and Enhance?”

    On May 28, the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya will host an expert webinar dedicated to the energy security of Belarus and the future of the country’s energy framework.

    European experience shows that energy security is a key component of sustainable democratic and economic development. Experts will address the role of nuclear energy in Belarus, dependence on Russian technologies and infrastructure, issues of safety and economic sustainability, as well as the prospects for future electricity demand.

    A scientific overview will be presented by Siarhei Besarab — Belarusian researcher in radiochemistry and expert in nuclear safety.

    The discussion will feature:

    • Dzmitry Kuchuk, Advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya on Environment;
    • Alisa Ryzhychenka, Representative for Economy and Finance of the United Transitional Cabinet;
    • Iryna Sukhi, Chair of the Green Network of Belarus and Co-Founder of Ecohome.

    Moderator: political scientist Vadim Mojeiko, Head of the Kaściuška Institute for Security Studies.

    The event will be held with simultaneous interpretation into Belarusian, Russian, and English.
