In June, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office prioritized international visits and meetings, support for political prisoners and civil society, and reforms for a future democratic Belarus.
Below are the key developments of the month.
- Visit to the UK. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with then Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Minister for Europe Stephen Doughty and addressed the International Alliance of Parliamentary Groups “For a Democratic Belarus”, Chatham House, and University College London. The Office also presented the Constitutional Court Reform Concept of a future democratic Belarus.
- Visit to the Czech Republic. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya met with President Petr Pavel, Foreign Minister Petr Macinka, Senate Speaker Miloš Vystrčil, and Prague Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda. She also met with the Belarusian community and visited exhibitions by Belarusian artists.
- Visit to Brussels. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas and EESC President Séamus Boland.
- International King Eric of Pomerania Award. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya received the award in Darłowo, Poland, in recognition of her contribution to the struggle for democracy.
- Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 in Gdańsk. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya presented the democratic Belarus’s position in discussions on Ukraine’s reconstruction and regional security. She also met with Lech Wałęsa.
- Concept for Accountability for Repression in Belarus. The document was published, presenting mechanisms for investigating the regime’s crimes, holding perpetrators accountable, and restoring justice.
- International work. Diplomatic Advisor Dzianis Kuchynski visited Paris, where he held meetings at the French Presidential Administration, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and the National Assembly. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office also organized meetings between Belarusian organizations and representatives of Italy and Ireland.
