  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with Belarusian NGOs in Prague

    June 11, 2026

During her visit to Prague, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with representatives of Belarusian NGOs, initiatives, and the wider community in the Czech Republic.

The meeting brought together representatives of educational, cultural, and civic organizations, members of the Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic (BNR), representatives of the Belarusian national minority, former political prisoners, volunteers, students, artists, and community leaders.

Participants discussed the life of the Belarusian community in the Czech Republic, support for Belarusians in exile, opportunities for joint projects, and cooperation among various initiatives.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya thanked everyone who has spent years supporting Belarusian culture, education, and civil society in the Czech Republic.

The parties also discussed the visa restrictions affecting Belarusians in the Czech Republic. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya spoke about ongoing engagement with the Czech authorities, including efforts related to visas for family members and people affected by repression.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “We should not lose one another. We should continue to support, listen to, and help each other, and invite back into our common work those who may have grown tired or stepped aside for a while. Because the Belarusian community is more than rallies and statements. It is people. It is trust. It is language, culture, memory, mutual support, and the feeling of not being alone.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for your work, your dedication, and your commitment to Belarus”.
