Franak Viacorka spoke at a panel discussion during the 5th Conference of the Belarusian Diaspora:
“We need to build the Belarusian case and the Belarusian story. The most important thing is to be visible. We have traditions such as March 25, April 26, and August 9 — and we need to continue them and bring in new people. We should integrate into the international agenda by explaining why Belarus matters for security and how Belarusians can be useful in the future.
Everyone is learning from us, because this is a unique story. Complaining that everything is hopeless is not enough — it is demotivating. We need more successful examples and mutual motivation.
Only cooperation between the democratic forces and diasporas brings results”.
