  • Tatiana Shchyttsova: “We can start democratization of education system in Belarus now – with collective preparations”

    February 09, 2024

Today’s school education system in Belarus faces numerous problems. Experts highlight isolation from modern trends, outdated teaching standards, and authoritarian management.

At the initiative of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office and with the participation of the United Transitional Cabinet, some of the best Belarusian experts in secondary education have developed a roadmap project to prepare for reforms in secondary education. Its goal is to ensure stable operation and effective transformation of the school education system after the democratic transition in the country.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor on Education and Science, Tatiana Shchyttsova, comments on the roadmap in her video address: “We can and should start preparing for reforms today. The first step is to develop a detailed action plan to be implemented at the very beginning when the undemocratic regime changes. This will lay the groundwork for a successful democratic transformation of the education system in our country”.

The roadmap is available in Russian and Belarusian at the link. Proposals, comments, and remarks are accepted through @AskOffice_Bot in Telegram or via email at askoffice@tsikhanouskaya.org.
