Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “This night, Russia struck Kyiv yet again. The attack damaged residential buildings and power lines, leaving around 140,000 people without electricity. Civilians, including children and rescue workers, were killed.
The attack also hit the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest monasteries in Eastern Europe. Throughout centuries of its existence, the shrine has endured destruction and attacks, yet it has remained a symbol of faith that united Ukrainians and Belarusians across generations.
Unfortunately, for the ideology of the ‘Russian world’, neither civilian lives, nor cultural heritage, nor historical memory matters. It seeks to rewrite history in its own image, stopping at nothing to destroy what holds value for millions of people.
Those who claim to defend ‘spiritual values’ bring missiles and set holy sites on fire. This is the true face of the Russian empire. It must be stopped.
Belarusians stand with Ukraine in this difficult time. Today, more than ever, we must remain united in defending freedom, truth, and everything that Russian aggression seeks to destroy”.
