  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya visited a center for Belarusian artists in Warsaw

    February 27, 2026

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya visited the Dom Tvorcau (House of Creators) space in Warsaw. She met with the space’s Chair and Founder, Siarhei Douhushau, as well as with local historians and activists Ales and Hanna Yurkoits, actor and director Andrei Tryzub, sculptor Aliaksei Urubleuski, and other members of the community.

Dom Tvorcau opened in December 2021 and has become a center supporting repressed Belarusian artists, actors, and musicians. It has hosted nine creative residencies and organized scholarships, exhibitions, and open-air art sessions. More than 1,000 talented creators have had the opportunity to work and rehabilitate in a safe environment.

During the meeting, participants discussed support for the project, engagement with artists, cooperation with Belarusian initiatives in Poland and across Europe, grant funding, and plans for further development of the space, including regular events. They also addressed the need for continued support for political prisoners and repressed artists.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Culture and art have the power to unite people and sustain talent even in difficult times. I am sincerely grateful to Dom Tvorcau for the warm welcome and its significant contribution to Belarusian culture. It is precisely thanks to spaces like this that our creative community continues to create art and find a path to the hearts of Belarusians”.
