The Belarusian Business Forum, held in Washington for the first time by the Association of Belarusian Business Abroad (ABBA), is a historic event for the Belarusian business community. The event’s partners include the US Department of Commerce, the Association of Belarusians in America (ABA), and the Belarusian-American Association BAZA.
The forum has brought together Belarusian entrepreneurs based in the USA, international experts, investors, as well as representatives of influential American institutions and business associations. It will focus on the needs of Belarusian businesses abroad and address ways for them to build and strengthen a community.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya launched the first Belarusian Business Forum in Washington. Here are the key quotes from her speech:
📌 “Your voice – the voice of the Belarusian businesspeople – is much stronger if you keep together. Today you will help each other in solving current business problems, advocate your needs and protect your rights; tomorrow you will be the stakeholders of the future political and economic reforms in Belarus”.
📌 “Russia has become the only foreign lender for the Belarusian regime. And this is not how it should be. This is not how we see the future of Belarus. I have a very clear vision that Belarus will always be a part of the global economy, not Russia’s economy”.
📌 “When democratic changes happen in Belarus, European Union countries will emerge as our primary trade partners. We will actively pursue free-trade agreements with both the EU and the USA, creating one of the most attractive business climates globally”.
