The Belarusian leader visited one of the most prestigious universities in the US, which is part of the renowned Ivy League. She addressed the students and experts alongside historian Timothy Snyder, who specializes in the history of Central and Eastern Europe.
During her speech, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya talked about the expectations from the upcoming US-Belarus Strategic Dialogue, which is set to launch tomorrow, as well as shared her vision for the US strategy vis-a-vis Belarus and ways to develop Belarus-Ukraine relations.
In Yale, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with Belarusians who had come to the event from all over America. Several Belarusians currently work at Yale, including director Andrei Kureichik and Economics Professor Andrei Tsyvinski.
At the end of the day, the Belarusian leader met with Yale representatives and proposed to launch a Belarus Center at the university, as well as introduce scholarships for Belarusian students and researchers. One of Yale’s international scholarship programs, the Maurice R. Greenberg Fellowship, is already available to Belarusians.
