  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya presented United Transitional Cabinet awards to outstanding individuals

    An official ceremony took place on the first day of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s visit to Warsaw, with the leader presenting awards from the United Transitional Cabinet to outstanding individuals.

    Several people were honored during the event for their exceptional dedication to their work and commitment to democratic values.

    The Francysk Skaryna Medal was awarded to Elżbieta Smułkowa – a linguist, Slavicist, renowned specialist in Belarusian and Polish Studies, and the first Polish Ambassador to Belarus. 

    The medal is granted for outstanding contributions to professional activities in science, education, and culture, as well as significant contributions to the cultural and intellectual heritage of the Belarusian people.

    The medal “For Distinguished Work for the Benefit of Belarus” was awarded to:

    • Prof. Dr hab. Jan Malicki – the Director of the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw;
    • Robert Tyszkiewicz – a Polish politician, publisher, and public figure;
    • Maciej Radziwiłł – a public figure, financier, and philanthropist.

    This medal is awarded for exceptional achievements in professional and public activities benefiting the Belarusian people and state across various fields.

    The medal “For Honor and Dignity” was presented to Andrei Yanushkevich – a Belarusian historian, publisher, and CEO of the Yanushkevich Publishing House. 

    This award is given to those who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication in the fight for freedom, national values, and human rights, often at great personal cost.

    The ceremony concluded with informal discussions and networking opportunities.
