  • Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya awarded Ingo Petz the medal “For Distinguished Work for the Benefit of Belarus”

    On April 1, during her visit to Berlin, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya presented the medal of the United Transitional Cabinet, “For Distinguished Work for the Benefit of Belarus”, to German journalist, writer, and Belarus researcher Ingo Petz.

    The award recognizes Petz’s significant contribution to promoting Belarusian culture, supporting independent journalism, and raising international awareness about Belarus.

    Ingo Petz is a German journalist, writer, and partner of the Belarusian Association of Journalists, specializing in Belarusian culture and music. He heads the Belarus editorial desk at dekoder.org, promoting Belarus-related topics in Germany.

    Petz studied Eastern European history, Slavic studies, and political science and has been engaged with Belarus since 1994. He has organized cultural events in Berlin, released the CD “The Red Book of Belarusian Music”, and in 2025 published the book Rasender Stillstand: Belarus – eine Revolution und die Folgen. Since 2021, he has been involved in educational projects for Belarusian journalism in exile.
