Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya took part in the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Warsaw, held at the invitation of Polish President Andrzej Duda. It was the first time Ms. Tsikhanouskaya was invited to the summit, which brought together delegations from over 20 countries.
The Three Seas Initiative is a regional cooperation platform among Central and Eastern European countries focused on transport, energy, security, and digital infrastructure. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s participation signals that Belarus belongs in the European region and that a democratic Belarus will be ready to become a reliable partner for its neighbors.
During the summit, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya held a series of short discussions with participating heads of state. She spoke with the presidents of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Poland, Estonia, Albania, as well as with Turkey’s Minister of Transport, Spain’s Minister for European Affairs, and the US Assistant Secretary for Energy.
“I advocate for Belarus to return to the European space — not only politically but also economically, logistically, and in the energy sector. The Three Seas Initiative is a platform where we can build future partnerships for a free Belarus”, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya noted during the summit.
The leader also emphasized that the isolation imposed by the Lukashenka regime goes against the interests of the Belarusian people and cuts the country off from regional cooperation. Belarus should be part of a stable and secure region rather than a military outpost for Russia.
