The participants signed the Paris Memorandum.
During her visit to Paris, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya met with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, and the President of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet.

BELARUSIANS’ SECURITY IN LITHUANIA
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office continues its work independently of recent changes to its security arrangements. The Lithuanian government has announced that responsibility for the security of Belarusian democratic institutions and Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya herself has been transferred to the country’s criminal police, while she remains an official guest of the state, and the Office’s diplomatic accreditation remains in place. This raised concerns regarding safety, and consultations are underway on the further organization of the Belarusian democratic institutions’ work in Lithuania.

WORLD DAY AGAINST THE DEATH PENALTY
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya released a statement on October 10, marking the World Day Against the Death Penalty: “Belarus remains the only country in Europe where death sentences are still carried out. International human rights organizations have long recognized that death is a radical and inhumane form of punishment that has nothing to do with justice. Yet in our country, people are still being executed. Over 30 years of Lukashenka’s rule, around 350 people have been sentenced to death”.
