The Kropka space in Vilnius was vandalized last week. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya visited the shop to support the co-founder, Dzmitry Furmanau, and the team. The leader warned against letting such provocations affect the relations between Belarusians and Lithuanians. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya was accompanied by Lithuania’s Ambassador-at-Large for Belarus, Asta Andrijauskienė, and Lithuanian Seimas member, Tomas Tomilinas.
“The regime is not fond of the good relations between the people of Lithuania and Belarusians. It needs constant provocations like this to drive a wedge between us. It does this to foster negative attitudes towards Belarusians and to sow fear among them. In a democratic society, xenophobia in any form must not exist”, stated Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also thanked the Lithuanian government for their swift response to the incident. She expressed confidence that the Lithuanian authorities will investigate the incident thoroughly to hold the perpetrators accountable.
