One of the highlights of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s working visit to Cyprus was the meeting with President Nikos Christodoulides in Nicosia. Since the country is a presidential republic, the leader also serves as the head of government, which means that the issues considered during the meeting were discussed on several political levels.
During the dialogue, the parties talked about several issues related to Belarus:
⚪️ Simplification of the legalization of stay for Belarusians in Cyprus;
🔴 Support for relocated businesses;
⚪️ Pressure on the regime and efforts to isolate it politically, economically, and in other ways;
🔴 Simplification of legal procedures;
⚪️ Unified international position on the situation in Belarus.
President Christodoulides assured Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya of Cyprus’ support for the Belarusian people. He emphasized that Cyprus’ policy remains consistent in supporting the democratic forces and isolating the regime.
