The 4th Conference of the Belarusian Diaspora officially opened in Warsaw today. Friday’s side events include:
- A roundtable on cultural diplomacy;
- A discussion on funding for cultural initiatives;
- A meeting with the People’s Embassies;
- A youth side event “Bridges Without Borders.”
The working day began with a major report presented by BELPOL. The document, presented by Matsvei Kupreichyk and Uladzimir Zhyhar, is the first systematized proof of the Lukashenka regime’s involvement in the war, prepared by a broad group of experts. The report is based on both open and classified sources.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya attended the presentation and addressed the participants of the side event:
“The report we presented today is fundamental work. It analyzes not only the internal policies of the Lukashenka regime but also its role in the war against Ukraine. It is yet another proof that the regime has become an active accomplice in the aggression. It has provided territory and military infrastructure, participated in the filtration of prisoners of war, in the information war, and in the repression of anti-war activists.
Such materials are essential to achieve justice. And also for the future of Belarus. If we want to build a new, democratic country, we must know the truth, call crimes by their name, and demand accountability”.
