On December 6, the Cross-Party Forum “8+100” took place in the European Parliament, bringing together representatives of Belarusian and European political parties. Following the forum, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the situation of political prisoners in Belarus.
The resolution demands the regime to immediately release Mikalai Statkevich, who has not been heard from for 300 days, as well as all other political prisoners. The document also states that political prisoners must be entitled to rehabilitation and financial compensation for the damage caused.
Members of the European Parliament called for the documentation of all crimes of the regime to hold its accomplices accountable.
