Tomorrow, the Belarusian leader will address the European Parliament, which brings together seven hundred MPs from all across the EU.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “Two years ago, in that very hall, I said that if we didn’t stop the dictatorship, it would become a threat to all of Europe. And that's exactly what happened. Lukashenka unleashed terror, dragged our country into a war, and started nuclear blackmail. Nine million Belarusians are held hostage. Our independence is under threat today, and we cannot allow Russia to seize Belarus.
We need an effective united strategy that isolates the regime, not the people. Assistance to political prisoners, repressed individuals and refugees must be a priority. Support for the new Belarus passport will allow tens of thousands of people to maintain their legal status. We need to strengthen the connections between Belarusians and Europe.
I will do everything in my power to ensure that the European Parliament hears the voice of every Belarusian”.
