At the invitation of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, following his meeting with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, a delegation of the democratic forces — Diplomatic Advisor Dzianis Kuchynski and newly appointed Head of the Democratic Belarus Mission in Madrid Tatsiana Marynich — took part in the Global Progressive Mobilization.
This marks the first participation of representatives of the Belarusian democratic forces in this international platform, which brings together political leaders, parties, trade unions, civil society organizations, and experts from different regions of the world to coordinate actions in democracy protection and social justice.
The participation of the Belarusian delegation in the Global Progressive Mobilization has several key dimensions:
- Strengthening the international visibility of the Belarusian issue. The democratic forces’ presence helps return Belarus to the agenda of international progressive and democratic movements, as well as political parties and civil society.
- Integration into global democratic networks. The forum is aimed at both discussing and developing coordinated actions among various actors — political parties, trade unions, and NGOs. For the democratic forces of Belarus, this is an opportunity to take part in shaping modern transnational mechanisms for supporting democracy.
- Expanding partnerships in Europe and beyond. Contacts were established with representatives of European political structures and international organizations, including key partners of the Belarusian democratic forces — the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) and the Party of European Socialists (PES). Among them were the Head of the International Secretariat of PSOE and Vice-Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Hana Jalloul, and the Secretary General of PES, Giacomo Filibeck.
The democratic forces focused on expanding contacts with representatives of countries from the Global South and Latin America, who actively participate in global democratic and social initiatives and represent diverse political traditions within international dialogue.
“The conference allowed us to establish contacts with countries of the Global South and Latin America. I had a brief conversation with the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva — one of the key figures of the G20 and a leader of a country that plays a significant role in global politics and international economic relations”, noted Dzianis Kuchynski.
Key topics discussed at the Global Progressive Mobilization included:
- protection of democratic institutions and countering authoritarianism;
- social cohesion and reducing inequality;
- countering political polarization and populism;
- combining democratic development with sustainable socio-economic growth.
For Belarus, these issues are particularly relevant in the context of restoring democratic institutions and protecting civil rights.
Participation in the conference allowed the democratic forces to:
- strengthen presence in international democratic networks;
- expand cooperation with political parties, NGOs, and trade unions;
- present the Belarusian experience as an example of the struggle for democracy and civil rights;
- reinforce Belarus’ place as part of the global coalition of democratic forces.
Па запрашэнні прэм’ер-міністра Іспаніі Педра Санчэса, пасля яго сустрэчы са Святланай Ціханоўскай, дэлегацыя беларускіх дэмакратычных сілаў — дыпламатычны дарадца Дзяніс Кучынскі і прызначаная кіраўніца місіі дэмакратычных сілаў у Мадрыдзе Таццяна Марыніч — прыняла ўдзел у Global Progressive Mobilization.
Гэта першы ўдзел прадстаўнікоў беларускіх дэмакратычных сілаў у гэтай міжнароднай платформе, якая аб’ядноўвае палітычных лідараў, партыі, прафсаюзы, грамадскія арганізацыі і экспертаў з розных рэгіёнаў свету для каардынацыі дзеянняў у сферы абароны дэмакратыі і сацыяльнай справядлівасці.
Удзел беларускай дэлегацыі ў Global Progressive Mobilization мае некалькі ключавых аспектаў:
- Узмацненне міжнароднай бачнасці беларускай тэмы. Прысутнасць беларускіх дэмакратычных сілаў дазваляе вяртаць пытанне Беларусі ў парадак дня міжнародных прагрэсіўных і дэмакратычных рухаў, а таксама палітычных партыяў і грамадзянскай супольнасці.
- Інтэграцыя ў глабальныя дэмакратычныя сеткі. Форум накіраваны не толькі на абмеркаванне, але і на выпрацоўку каардынаваных дзеянняў паміж рознымі актарамі — палітычнымі партыямі, прафсаюзамі і НДА. Для беларускіх дэмакратычных сілаў гэта магчымасць удзельнічаць у фарміраванні сучасных транснацыянальных механізмаў падтрымкі дэмакратыі.
- Пашырэнне партнёрстваў у Еўропе і за яе межамі. У межах канферэнцыі адбыліся кантакты з прадстаўнікамі еўрапейскіх палітычных структураў і міжнародных арганізацыяў, у тым ліку з ключавымі партнёрамі беларускіх дэмакратычных сілаў — прадстаўнікамі Іспанскай сацыялістычнай рабочай партыі (PSOE) і Партыі еўрапейскіх сацыялістаў (PES).
Сярод іх — Хана Джаллул, кіраўніца міжнароднага сакратарыята PSOE і віцэ-прэзідэнтка Камітэта па міжнародных справах Еўрапейскага парламента, а таксама Джакома Філібек, генеральны сакратар PES.
Асобна адзначаецца пашырэнне кантактаў з прадстаўнікамі краінаў Поўдня і Лацінскай Амерыкі, якія актыўна ўдзельнічаюць у глабальных дэмакратычных і сацыяльных ініцыятывах і прадстаўляюць розныя палітычныя традыцыі ў рамках міжнароднага дыялогу.
«У межах канферэнцыі была магчымасць усталяваць кантакт з краінамі Поўдня і Лацінскай Амерыкі. Меў кароткую размову з прэзідэнтам Бразіліі Луісам Інасіу Лула да Сілва — адной з ключавых фігур G20 і лідарам краіны, якая адыгрывае значную ролю ў глабальнай палітыцы і міжнародных эканамічных адносінах», — адзначыў Дзяніс Кучынскі.
У цэнтры абмеркаванняў Global Progressive Mobilization былі:
- абарона дэмакратычных інстытутаў і супрацьдзеянне аўтарытарызму;
- сацыяльная згуртаванасць і змяншэнне няроўнасці;
- супрацьдзеянне палітычнай палярызацыі і папулізму;
- спалучэнне дэмакратычнага развіцця і ўстойлівага сацыяльна-эканамічнага росту.
Для Беларусі гэтыя тэмы маюць асаблівую актуальнасць у кантэксце неабходнасці аднаўлення дэмакратычных інстытутаў і абароны грамадзянскіх правоў.
Вынікі. Удзел у канферэнцыі дазволіў:
- узмацніць прысутнасць дэмакратычных сілаў Беларусі ў міжнародных дэмакратычных сетках;
- пашырыць супрацоўніцтва з палітычнымі партыямі, НДА і прафсаюзнымі аб’яднаннямі;
- прэзентаваць беларускі досвед як прыклад барацьбы за дэмакратыю і грамадзянскія правы;
- замацаваць Беларусь як частку глабальнай кааліцыі дэмакратычных сілаў.
