  • Anatoli Liabedzka attended ceremonial events marking Lithuania’s State Restoration Day

    February 16, 2026

On February 16, Lithuania celebrates its State Restoration Day, commemorating the 1918 signing of the Act of Independence. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Advisor on Parliamentary Cooperation, Anatoli Liabedzka, took part in official events in Vilnius today.

Mr. Liabedzka noted that Belarusians value standing alongside Lithuania on meaningful dates like this and sharing the values of freedom, statehood, and a European future:

“Today, Belarus had the honor, on behalf of the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, to participate in the celebrations marking the restoration of Lithuanian statehood.

Over this time, Lithuania has demonstrated what a country and a people who believe in themselves and strive for the future can achieve. I can only join the congratulations expressed by President Gitanas Nausėda and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.

I believe that we will share a common European future. We will live side by side in the ‘European quarter’.

Long Live Belarus! Thank you, Lithuania!”
