During the visit to Brussels from June 27 to 29, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the President of the European Council, the EU High Representative, the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, as well as the Belarusian diaspora. Representatives of the United Transitional Cabinet, Valery Kavaleuski, Pavel Latushka, and Vladzimir Astapenka, also took part in the meetings. At the premises of the Mission of Democratic Belarus in Brussels, Belarusians of Belgium met with members of the Belarus–EU Consultative Group.
- During the visit:
– The Belarus–EU Consultative Group was launched, and its first meeting was held involving members of the Coordination Council, the United Transitional Cabinet, and the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, as well as representatives of Belarusian civil society, independent media, human rights organizations, and business associations. The discussions focused on the EU's strategy on Belarus, assistance to the repressed, and support for cultural initiatives and media.
– Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya proposed to EU leaders to increase support for the repressed, human rights defenders, independent media, and civil society, as well as to simplify visa and migration procedures for Belarusians in exile.
– As a result of the meetings, the European Council issued a statement calling for halting the deployment of Russian military and nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory.
– The Belarusian leader proposed to Josep Borrell to appoint an EU Special Representative for Belarus and to hold Lukashenka accountable for crimes against humanity and the regime's complicity in Russia's war against Ukraine.
