  • 3rd Conference of Belarusian Diaspora in Prague: Second day results

    March 24, 2024

On the second day of the Third Conference of the Belarusian Diaspora, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office, the United Transitional Cabinet, and the People’s Embassies held a joint strategic session. The Belarusian leader joined it, after which she officially launched a memorial plaque in honor of Francysk Skaryna, marking the third object in Prague dedicated to the Belarusian pioneer of printing.

“Skaryna has always been and will always be the number one historical figure for Belarusians. He embodies everything that makes us Europeans. Francysk Skaryna brought Europe to Belarus. But he also brought Belarus to Europe”, noted Ms. Tsikhanouskaya.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya later addressed the participants of the march that took place on the occasion of Freedom Day:

“This day celebrates our struggle not only for freedom but also for the very existence of Belarus as a country. We cannot celebrate Freedom Day today in Minsk because the country is under occupation. That is why Belarusians take to the streets all around the world to remind everyone about our struggle and support the people imprisoned by the regime. And we will continue to do this. Until we regain our country. We will not stop until all political prisoners are free. Until the criminals are punished. And until we forever liberate our country from the clutches of the empire”.
