Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya has concluded her visit to Ukraine. She:
- met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy;
- held a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, and a Foreign Ministry delegation, and took part in a joint press conference;
- spoke at the opening of the International Summit of Cities and Regions in Kyiv;
- met with the leadership of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War;
- delivered a lecture at Kyiv School of Economics;
- visited the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and Pripyat;
- honored the memory of fallen Belarusians and figures important to Belarusian–Ukrainian history: she visited memorial sites at the Maidan, the grave of Belarusian volunteer Maria Zaitseva and Heavenly Hundred hero Mikhail Zhyzneuski, monuments to journalist Pavel Sheremet and writer Uladzimir Karatkievich, and, together with Minister Sybiha, laid flowers at the Wall of Remembrance for fallen heroes in Kyiv.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya and Ukrainian officials discussed Belarusian support for Ukraine, the situation of Belarusians living in Ukraine, assistance to Belarusian volunteers, the Lukashenka regime’s accountability for complicity in Russian aggression, sanctions, and further cooperation between Ukraine and the democratic forces of Belarus.
The visit also resulted in the appointment of Ambassador-at-Large Yaroslav Chornohor to coordinate cooperation with the democratic forces of Belarus, the launch of a coordination group on issues affecting Belarusians in Ukraine, the participation of democratic forces in the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, as well as agreements on cultural, educational, informational, and diplomatic cooperation.
