Dzianis Kuchynski, who heads Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office in Vilnius and serves as her Diplomatic Advisor, met in Vilnius with the team of Lithuania’s Prime Minister, Ingrida Ruginienė. The Lithuanian side was represented by the Prime Minister Ruginienė’s Diplomatic Advisor, Kęstutis Kudzmanas, and National Security Advisor, Vidmantas Kaladinskas.
The parties discussed:
- the Office’s plans in Lithuania and priority areas of work, including cooperation with Lithuanian authorities;
- sanctions policy: maintaining pressure on the regime while ensuring restrictions do not affect Belarusians;
- restrictions affecting Belarusians in Lithuania: Dzianis Kuchynski called for not placing Belarusians in the same category as Russians;
- the regime’s hybrid attacks: the use of smuggling balloons, the migration crisis, and the designation of European Humanities University as an “extremist organization”;
- ways to support and preserve the EHU.
Dzianis Kuchynski: “The historical backdrop of the Battle of Orsha in the photo is a reminder that Lithuania and Belarus have stood and fought together for centuries. The same holds true today — support and mutual solidarity remain important for both nations”.
