Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the Vice-President of the Bundestag, Yvonne Magwas. Pavel Latushka and Alina Koushyk of the United Transitional Cabinet and Anzhalika Melnikava of the Coordination Council also joined the discussion.
During the meeting, the parties discussed several issues, including:
📎 internships for Belarusian youth in Germany;
📎 activities of the group “For a Democratic Belarus” in the Bundestag;
📎 a solidarity campaign for Belarusian political prisoners;
📎 implementation of the Bundestag resolution supporting Belarusian civil society, the diaspora, and mobility for Belarusians;
📎 expanded cooperation between the Bundestag and the Coordination Council;
📎 possible actions by the international community ahead of the regime’s 2025 sham election.
In particular details, the parties discussed expanding educational programs for Belarusians, including increasing the number of German state scholarships. They also discussed the initiative to establish a Belarusian research university. Additionally, the Belarusian side invited the Bundestag members to visit Vilnius and Warsaw to meet with the families of political prisoners from Belarus, representatives of NGOs, and independent media.
