  • Where do people live without water? How do they violate laws at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant? Real Belarus in the regions

    June 25, 2022

“Building contacts with Belarusians and communication channels has been an important part of our activities. Thanks to such projects as Spotlight of the Regions, we have received a lot of information about how people live in the regions and what problems they face. For instance, we know that in Belaaziorsk, people working at an industrial enterprise are not given protective clothing. We know that in Kamianets, almost all school principals have been fired. We know that in Seilavichy, people have no access to the main water supply line, while in Mahilna, people have to use contaminated water for months and the local government does not help them. At the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, people have to work 9 to 12 hours a day without a lunch break, which is a direct violation of employment and labor laws”.

In this video, the Executive Director of the Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office Alexandra Logvinova, will tell you how Belarusians can talk about their problems and be heard.
