In an interview with Euroradio, the Belarusian leader extended New Year wishes to her nation:
“I don’t want to say cliches like ‘be healthy and have more positive experiences’. Over and over again, this just sounds empty. What every family and every person needs is very different. Some have the strength to continue the struggle, while others don’t even have the strength to think about what is happening in Belarus.
I want you to look deep in your minds this year and see what is going on there. What would you want Belarus to be in the future? An appendage to Russia in eternal subordination? Or a free European nation? Have a conversation with yourself. Think about who you are, what you stand for, and what you can do to make it true”.
Remember that Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s New Year’s Eve address will begin on December 31 at 23:50 Minsk time (20:50 London time). Join the premiere!
