Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “The regime continues to kill political prisoners. Today, it was reported that following Vitold Ashurak, Mikalai Klimovich, and Ales Pushkin, the regime tortured Vadzim Khrasko to death.
For the criminals who did this, human life has no true value. They intentionally deny medical assistance or medications to the inmates. They simply let them die. Due to the regime’s incommunicado policy, we cannot even find out about their real condition – some prisoners have been denied meetings with their lawyers and correspondence for months.
The regime murders Belarusians systematically and deliberately. We will do everything we can to hold the perpetrators of these crimes to account. Nothing is more important than a human life. Nothing can justify these killings.
I offer sincere condolences to Vadzim Khrasko’s family and loved ones. And I want to remind Belarusians both inside Belarus and abroad: care for those in prisons. Write letters to political prisoners, support their families, demand information about the condition of those behind bars. Because today, we must do everything we can so that no one else has to die in prison”.
