Today, the Belarusian leader participated in the online events held by the BNR100 team to celebrate Freedom Day. She addressed Belarusians on the occasion of this national holiday:
“This is the milestone that started the recent history of Belarus, our independence, and our national revival. Belarusians stepped out of the shadow of the empire and proclaimed: We are a nation! Belarusians formed as a nation. And now we feel responsible for our fate and decide our future independently.
This day is a symbol of everything that no one can take away from Belarusians: honor, courage, and mutual support. As well as love for our history, culture, and language. Even in the most adverse conditions, Belarusians continue their fight. Much has to be done underground now, but people do not stop resisting – despite intimidation and terror. Belarusians in exile also do not stop their efforts. I am proud of each of you!
There was a time when no one could imagine Belarus becoming independent. But it did. This is why I call on everyone – do not give up. Continue the struggle. Support each other. And so, step by step, together, we will reach a free Belarus.
