Today, on February 5, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya held a meeting with the team of the National Anti-Crisis Management (NAU). The meeting was attended by NAU Head Pavel Latushka and team members Artsiom Brukhan, Yuliya Harachaya, Artsiom Praskalovich, Iryna Khalopitsa, and others. The meeting took place at the NAU office in Warsaw.
The parties discussed several key areas of joint work:
- the election campaign to the Coordination Council: how to jointly promote it to involve more Belarusians and strengthen the political agency of the democratic forces;
- coordination between the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and the National Anti-Crisis Management;
- cooperation on legal matters and holding regime representatives accountable under international criminal law, including in the context of the mechanisms of the International Criminal Court.
The NAU team also shared up-to-date information on its main areas of work, including assistance to political prisoners, the sanctions track, and efforts related to residency issues faced by Belarusians in Poland. The parties discussed additional steps that could be taken to increase pressure on the regime.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya: “In today’s circumstances, it is particularly important for us to act together and maintain a shared focus. This meeting will allow us to synchronize our efforts in order to more effectively defend the interests of Belarusians, increase international pressure on the regime, and work toward a democratic future for Belarus. Thank you to the NAU team for their systematic work”.
