    January 18, 2024

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya concluded her participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos with a series of high-level meetings.

🇳🇱 She discussed the situation in Belarus with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. The politicians talked about steps to hold Lukashenka and his associates accountable for crimes against humanity and the deportation of Ukrainian children. Ms. Tsikhanouskaya proposed that the Netherlands raise this issue before the International Criminal Court. The parties also discussed the legalization of stay and the possibility of obtaining valid documents for Belarusians in the Netherlands, with Rutte confirming that this issue is currently being addressed.

🇮🇪 Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya had a conversation with the Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar. She thanked the Prime Minister for supporting Belarusian cultural initiatives. The politicians discussed further steps Ireland can take to assist democratic Belarus on the international stage.

🇫🇮 Additionally, the Belarusian leader met with the former Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, who now works at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which advises the governments of Moldova and Ukraine. They discussed possible collaboration between the democratic forces of Belarus and the Blair Institute. They also summarized the results of the Belarusian-Finnish conference held earlier this month.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya emphasized the issue of Belarusian political prisoners and suggested that Sanna Marin take patronage over one of them.
