After her speech at the European People’s Party Congress in Bucharest, the Belarusian leader met with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
During the dialogue, Ms. Tsikhanouskaya drew attention to the problems related to the legalization of stay faced by Belarusians in the EU countries and expressed hope that the EU leadership will continue supporting the Belarusian civil society. The leader also emphasized the need to exert pressure on the regime for the release of political prisoners and to counter Russian aggression against Ukraine.
