The Belarusian leader, along with representatives of the United Transitional Cabinet, held talks in Brussels with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell. The meeting took place within the framework of the Belarus–EU Consultative Group.
The parties discussed in detail:
📎 Continued and increased support for Belarus’ civil society;
📎 Accountability for the regime;
📎 Further work of the Consultative Group;
📎 Cooperation in countering propaganda;
📎 Promoting the European alternative among Belarusians.
The discussion also addressed the continued issuance of Schengen visas to Belarusians and assistance with the legalization of stay in exile. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya emphasized the importance of open borders and the mobility of those within the country.
At the end of the meeting, Josep Borrell proposed holding a Belarusian-European conference to address the crisis in Belarus.
