As part of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s working visit to Bulgaria, she delivered a lecture at Sofia University. The event was attended by more than 200 people, including students, faculty, and researchers. After the lecture, the Belarusian leader answered students’ questions.
During her speech, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya talked about Bulgarian-Belarusian relations and thanked Bulgaria for its support. She discussed the situation with political prisoners in Belarus and emphasized Russia’s attempts to destroy the Belarusian national identity.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya also urged students to organize events on Belarus and focus their research on the country. The leader proposed establishing connections with Belarusian student and youth organizations. In her lecture, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya expressed hope that Bulgaria, having experienced dictatorship itself, would be firm in defending free Belarus on the international stage.
