    The Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya continues its engagement in Lithuania. Read an overview of its activities on February 17.

    Meeting of the “For a Democratic Belarus” Group

    The Seimas Group “For a Democratic Belarus” held a meeting today. From the Belarusian side, participants included:

    • Dzianis Kuchynski, Diplomatic Advisor to Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Director of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office in Lithuania; 
    • Anatoli Liabedzka, Advisor on Parliamentary Cooperation; 
    • Dzmitry Kuchuk, Advisor on Environment; 
    • leaders and representatives of six political and seven civic Belarusian NGOs registered in Lithuania.

    The main objective was to present ideas and proposals for planning the group’s work for 2026.

    Anatoli Liabedzka: “The Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya aims to facilitate opportunities for NGOs to present their competencies, ideas, and proposals. Today, many interesting initiatives were voiced regarding the integration of Belarusians in Lithuania, education issues, the status of volunteer fighters, and legislative initiatives affecting the legal status of Belarusians. We are working and moving forward”.

    Meeting with Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys

    Dzianis Kuchynski took part in a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, and the heads of diplomatic missions of foreign states accredited in the country. The Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya in Lithuania is one of the accredited foreign representations.

    During the traditional annual meeting, Lithuania’s foreign policy priorities were presented, and the situation in the Baltic Sea region, Europe, and the world was reviewed.

    Dzianis Kuchynski: “We are grateful to the Lithuanian government, in particular Prime Minister Ruginienė and Foreign Minister Budrys, for their openness, support, and consistent position regarding Belarus. It is important for us to feel solidarity and understanding during this difficult time for our country. Lithuania has repeatedly proven that it stands alongside the Belarusian people, and we truly appreciate this”.
