  • Franak Viacorka and Leanid Marozau attended the WUB-Hub 2025 Conference “Ukraine, Belarus, and the Complex Geopolitics of Europe”

    Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Chief Advisor, Franak Viacorka, and Advisor on Legal Affairs, Leanid Marozau, took part in the Warwick Ukraine-Belarus Hub’s “Ukraine, Belarus and the Complex Geopolitics of Europe” Conference held in London at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). The event brought together leading experts in international law, European security, and democratic transformation.

    Among the participants were Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK,Valerii Zaluzhnyi; members of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; members of the European Parliament; former UN Special Rapporteur on Belarus, Anaïs Marin; and analysts from Chatham House, the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies, UCL, RUSI, and other influential institutions.

    The conference focused on:

    • An international tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine;
    • Legal mechanisms for accountability for war crimes and human rights violations;
    • The role of Belarus as a co-aggressor in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

    Franak Viacorka represented Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office in a panel discussion on Belarus. He called for international support for democratic Belarus, increased external pressure on the regime, and recognition of the Belarusian people as independent actors in the European context.

    Leanid Marozau took part in discussions on legal tools and sanction mechanisms related to European security and the future of democratic Belarus.

    Following the conference, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Office intends to prepare analytical materials and proposals for international partners to support further advocacy efforts.
