With a TikTok representative, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Office will discuss promoting Belarusian content and supporting Belarusian bloggers and media. The Office will be collecting proposals and reports from Belarusians to forward them to TikTok.
At the meeting with Google, the Office talked about the following issues. The first is that YouTube bans the Belarusian language. It is not possible to use a video in Belarusian for advertising. But it is important for Belarusians. Google pledged to commence work in that direction. The tech company and the Office also discussed launching a separate segment for Belarus within Google products, as Belarus has always been linked to Russia. There should be a separate office for Belarus.
Both Facebook and Instagram show insane propaganda videos. Their representatives told us that the majority of such videos have already been blocked, as well as the accounts placing them. The Office will also be conveying information about new ones to Meta upon Belarusians' reports.
