The meeting was attended by the President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, foreign and defense ministers from 16 countries, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, and the Speaker of the Lithuanian Parliament.
The Belarusian leader addressed other participants of the event, calling for supporting Belarus and distinguishing between the Belarusian people and regime:
“We must not lose sight of the situation in Belarus. Not only because of the humanitarian catastrophe we are facing but also because the very existence of our country is under threat. And this threat is coming from Russia and the illegitimate regime in Minsk. The two dictators are now going to place nuclear weapons and Wagner PMC mercenaries on our territory, which would secure the Russian presence for years to come. We must not allow this.
Belarusians do not support Russian rule. Belarusians stand with Ukraine and hope for a European future. Therefore, we must distinguish between the Belarusian people and the regime”.
