Today, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the faction of Social Democrats in Lithuanian Seimas.
Ms. Tsikhanouskaya thanked the MPs for standing by the Belarusian civil society and openly and consistently supporting Belarusians. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya also spoke about the recent sentences to activists and crackdown on trade unions, as well as about Belarusian military volunteers in Ukraine.
MPs and Ms. Tsikhanouskaya agreed to work on:
– expanding the work of the parliamentary group For Democratic Belarus;
– increasing support for Belarusian parties persecuted and repressed by the authorities;
– organizing internships for young Belarusians in the Lithuanian Seimas;
– taking patronage over political prisoners, whose number is growing every day;
– stepping up the international campaign in support of detained trade union leaders.
