“The main process that began in 2020 and continues to date is that Belarusians are learning to build democracy with their own hands. At first, we needed leaders, for whom we collected signatures and votes, but now every Belarusian can become a leader.
The regime is launching its own secret meeting, which it calls "All Belarusian" and "people's", although there is no single real, elected delegate there. He hopes that Belarusians will allow him this performance with the destruction of the Constitution. But Belarusians will not let themselves be fooled. They have created a new instrument of direct democracy: the ”Shod” (“Assembly”) platform.
This is a platform where every Belarusian can choose their delegate or become such a delegate if people choose them. After applying and voting, there will be at least 328 new leaders across the country. These will be neighborhood activists, factory workers and party representatives, doctors, students, pensioners and their adult grandchildren, officials and business people — those who have real, and not falsified, support from the people. This means that they will have the right to make decisions and propose ideas for a new Belarus, in which we all want to live.
By creating this platform, Belarusians confirmed their readiness for dialogue. And everyone who has been allowed to speak for 26 years should be heard now. After all, now you and I know what real national unity is. And no one can take it away from us”.
