Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s Diplomatic Advisor, Dzianis Kuchynski, is on a working visit to Washington, D.C.
At the White House, he was received by the Deputy National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump and National Security Advisor to Vice President J.D. Vance, Andy Baker.
Mr. Kuchynski handed Mr. Baker a letter addressed to the President of the United States from Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Siarhei Tsikhanouski, and thanked the US government for its role in the successful release of political prisoners in Belarus, including Siarhei Tsikhanouski.
The parties also discussed:
- Next steps in the relations between the government of the United States and the democratic forces of Belarus;
- Strategies for the release of political prisoners;
- A comprehensive approach toward the Lukashenka regime, including support for civil society and international pressure;
- President Trump’s ultimatum, possible ceasefire scenarios, and US administration leverage over Russia;
- Regional security issues and Belarus’ role in potential Ukraine–Russia negotiations.
Dzianis Kuchynski: “I had warm and productive consultations at the White House with Andy Baker. This meeting marks the highest-level engagement of democratic Belarus at the White House since President Trump’s election – a vital step toward reinforcing our ongoing dialogue with the United States. We will continue this cooperation in support of the release of political prisoners in Belarus and positive change in our country”.
