Yesterday, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya was on a working visit to Tallinn, where she held meetings with the Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Margus Tsahkna, the Speaker of the Parliament, Lauri Hussar, Member of Parliament Urmas Reinsalu, Belarusian diaspora, and also spoke at the Conference of European Churches.
The main outcome of the visit was the establishment of a group of Friends of Democratic Belarus in the Estonian Parliament. The group plans to hold hearings on Belarus and draft a resolution on the stationing of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus.
- Other subjects discussed during the meetings included:
– joint activities during the NATO summit and the United Nations General Assembly;
– assistance to Belarusian volunteers in Ukraine, including the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment;
– support for Belarusians in Estonia and simplification of migration and visa procedures;
– holding a high-level Estonian-Belarusian conference in the fall of this year.
